Itinerary

Pickup from your hotel and departure from Cusco (7:00 - 8:00 a.m.)

Transportation from your hotel in Cusco.
Departure to the Sacred Valley.

Chinchero – Textile and Archaeological Center (8:30 a.m.)

Visit to the archaeological site of Chinchero, with Inca terraces and a colonial church.
Demonstration of traditional Andean weaving by local artisans.

Moray – Inca Agricultural Laboratory (10:00 a.m.)

Tour of the circular terraces of Moray, used by the Incas for agricultural experiments.
Explanation of the importance of these terraces in Inca agriculture.

Maras Salt Mines (11:00 a.m.)

Visit to the famous Maras Salt Mines, where there are more than 3,000 natural salt pools.
Free time for photos and shopping for pink salt.

Buffet Lunch in Urubamba (12:30 p.m.)

Stop in Urubamba to enjoy a buffet lunch with Andean and Peruvian cuisine.
Ollantaytambo – Inca Fortress (2:00 p.m.)
Tour of the imposing Ollantaytambo fortress, with its terraces, temples, and Inca alleyways.
Brief free time to explore the town, which preserves its original Inca design.

Return to Cusco (6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.)

Return transfer by tourist transport to Cusco.

Depending on the location of your hotel, our guide will pick you up from the reception at the agreed-upon time. We will begin our journey to the Sacred Valley by taking a scenic route that circles the mountains north of Cusco. We will stop en route at El Mirador del Valle (viewpoint) to take in the stunning panorama of the entire Sacred Valley and begin learning about the Inca’s prehistoric past. One of the most important settlement sites for the Incas was the Sacred Valley. Unusually for the high Andes, the valley’s climate fosters fertile plains that support a lot of growth. Here, the Incas carved enormous terraces and irrigation canals into the mountainside.

Then we will visit the archaeological complexes of Pisaq and Ollantaytambo, both with their different Inca constructions and local markets.

Almost finishing the route we will arrive at the town of Chinchero; place that mixes pre-Inca, Inca and colonial remains.

Return to Cusco at 6:00 p.m.
