After breakfast and between 08.30 and 08.45 am, we pick you up from the hotel to begin the guided excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visit to the indigenous fair of Pisaq, which takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, in which The inhabitants carry out commercial exchanges as their ancestors did in memorial times.

We continue with buffet lunch at a local restaurant.

Then we headed to the town and fortress of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions by the inhabitants of the jungle. We will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and thus have a clear idea of what this military, religious and cultural center was like during the Inca Empire. We will return to Cusco via Chincheros where the remains of the royal estate of Túpac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes in the portico, built on the bases of an Inca building.

At approximately 6:00 am, we will transfer you to the Poroy train station, to take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will arrive at approximately 11:00 am.

Our staff will be waiting to accommodate you on the buses that will take you to the citadel of Machupicchu, in a trip of approximately 30 minutes.

On the mountain, our Guide will be waiting for you to begin the guided tour of approximately 2 hours, through the main sectors of the citadel: Agricultural, Civil, Military and Religious, visiting the Intiwatana, the temple of the sun, the temple of the Condor and others. important sectors.

Later you will have free time to explore the city on your own and around 2:00 p.m., we will be taking the bus back to Aguas Calientes where you can have lunch. In the afternoon, return by train to Cusco, where we will be waiting for you at the Poroy station to transfer you to your hotel in the city of Cusco.

Our tour begins with pick-up from your hotel, between 08.30 and 08.45 am, to go to the town of Maras, passing through very typical towns and beautiful landscapes that we can enjoy on our tour, arrival and visit to the following places:
MARAS: Located in the province of Urubamba at 3300 meters above sea level. From there you can see the Vilcanota mountain range and the snow-capped peaks: «El Chikón» (5530 meters above sea level), «La Verónica» (5682 meters above sea level).

Currently, this picturesque town preserves attractions from the pre-Hispanic, colonial and republican period, highlighting the town’s colonial streets and doorways with coats of arms of the nobles and chiefs from the 17th and 18th centuries.
MORAY: It is located about 7 km southwest of Maras and 53 km from Cusco with an altitude of 3,385 meters above sea level; It is a unique archaeological group of its kind in the region. These are gigantic natural holes that were used by the Incas who built terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation channels, it is therefore a prototype of a greenhouse, the largest hole has a depth of 150 meters and the average height of the platforms is 1.80 meters. , between each of them.

The structures found here are Inka, it is also estimated that the bottom is on a natural rock formation that facilitates filtration into the interior of the earth, which is why flooding does not occur in the rainy season. What is striking is the difference in average annual temperature between the top and bottom, a difference that can reach up to 15°C. This is where incredible advances in agriculture were made.
SALINERAS: OR “SALT MINES”, located northwest of the town of Maras, are made up of about 2,000 small wells, which were already exploited since the Inca era as a means of economic exchange and continue to be exploited by the locals.
They indicate that the mountain has salt mines inside, a spring of salt water that emanates from said mountain, serves during the dry season to fill the wells in the form of «irrigation» every 3 days with salt water for a month, to that gradually solidifies, then there is the process for consumption in the region.

After our visit we will return to the city of Cusco.
